Crown = corona in Spanish. The crown of thorns was employed by Jesus' captors both to cause him pain and to mock his claim of authority. By using the allegory of the crown of thorns, I am implying the coronavirus has been placed on this earth to cause humanity pain and suffering and also mock our belief of being invincible. In addition, it is meant to honor those who will die because of this disease and humanity's unpreparedness. I am wearing pearls alluding to the fact that disease doesn't discriminate, and it will touch even he who believes himself to be the most powerful.
