Appropriating ubiquitous forms from popular culture and the social landscape, and recreating them with different materials, I recontextualize and revitalize objects that have been drained of their significance. Theatrics akin to slapstick comedy lends a performative aspect to the work in which the object becomes the actor. In The Regulator (2020), an Igloo cooler acts as my surrogate, adopting a pathetic while simultaneously defensive behavior when faced with the pressures of masculinity.
