In the world of social media in the 21st century, Anne Xin uses her thesis project during COVID-19 to build and grow a community in Southeast Baltimore, affected by crime and safety. A recipient of the Center for Creative Citizenship's 2020 Community Engagement Grant," Meet Your Neighbor: Building Neighborliness in Southeast Baltimore," partners with the Maryland Institute of College and the Patterson Park Neighborhood Association, to change the narrative with neighbors from crime and safety concerns to meaningful conversations. Her events, "Social Distancing Stoop Night Pop-Up featuring THOSEPEOPLE" and "Bmore Lights," the installation of string lights on the block," have demonstrated connectivity and community, amidst quarantine. Anne Xin's social design project celebrates the resilience, diversity, and crime reduction on one block in Patterson Place, Southeast Baltimore, Maryland, USA.
