Myra Set and Yasue Dress
The Myra set plays upon the expectation of an audience when gazing at a woman's figures. The at once taboo and coveted sections of the body are garishly exposed in the skirt and top set, demonstrating the presumed places where one's eyes usually go.
The Yasue dress was created as the opening piece for my third collection, Fait Pour Montrer A20. All previous collections are available Puissante.shop, a brand collective with handcrafted and made to order compositions.
Designed and hand-sewn by Nora Furlong, the resulting pieces are an incorporation of the feminine expectation of clothing and the fragility of said concept. Pairing delicate fabrics with elements of deconstructed and industrial material, the designer is attempting to manipulate the accepted representation of effeminate fashion. Her hope is to create clothing that exposes the strength of the women wearing it.
