In my work, I look at the materiality and colors of weaving inspired by Guatemalan textiles. Ideas of connectivity are central to my work; I incorporate contrasting surfaces that can be woven together freely. The color story emphasizes ideas of the sunrise, bright oranges, and pinks.
My name is Anna Julieta and I recently graduated from California College of the Arts, in San Francisco, Majoring in Fashion design. I am deeply inspired by my Guatemalan heritage. I am also very influenced by bright colors and textile experimentation.
